This is my first book by Woodson and I want more. In less than 200 pages, I was invested in most of the characters. Yeah, I cried. #Booked2019

pickI just read this book in one sitting after I said I was going to bed early 🤦🏻♀️. This was my book club‘s pick this month and I was not disappointed. I loved the writing and the message. It was so poetic and it really reminded me a lot of Francesca Lia Block‘s style. It‘s such a dark story, but it really makes a point of showing a glimmer of hope. I couldn‘t put it down and I will be reading all of this author‘s work now!
