I LOVE how Shusterman develops his characters. They are so real! That combined with a fast-paced story of suspense is irresistible!

Don‘t miss this one!!! Three girls fight against the sexist culture at their school and start a movement that just takes off from there. I loved this book as it is such an important message to all the girls (and boys) around. Although the book deals with a grim every day reality that lots of girls face every day, the characters are often hilarious and I often had to laugh out loud.
I picked this book to read about a refugee story. With all hose tragedies of refugees trying to cross the Mediterranean it is easy to forget that each one of them has their own unique story.
Amaaaaazing! I already loved the first one in the series but the second one is even better! What a read! Page turning suspense, a quirky sense of humor, and most of all the original writing style! I have never read a book that experiments with so many different forms of writing and even incorporates graphics to tell the story. You have to actually pick it up and see for yourself to understand how clever it is.
Ooh, oh, this was so good. Suspense, unexpected twists and so much fun! Lots of fantasy novels are so predictable but not this one.
I love this book! The poems bring the characters alive in a way that a novel wouldn't. You end up laughing and crying with them.
What a read. I couldn't put it down although the reality of it all often left me very upset. I knew about Ravensbrück but hadn't read an account that was so vivid.
I really enjoyed this book. It is gripping, the characters are funny but the most interesting part was the way it is written. From emails to hacked documents, to pictures with words. My most favorite part was the space fight where the individual space fighters' train of thought followed the path their space craft flew.
Great summer read. Finally a retelling of Pride and Prejudice that does justice to Liz Bennett. In character she matches the original but she also is a modern day heroine.
I loved The Kichen House but was only luke warm about this one. I had real trouble with Jamie Pike as he was often weak and selfish. I'd love to read a future book about Adelaide Spencer. What a character!
LOVED IT!!! Yes, it is about death but it is such a relief to hear from other people what they are going through with their aging parents. Some passages are actually so funny I had to laugh out loud. The book was like therapy.
One of my goals for this year was to start reading more graphic novels. I am glad I did. I had so much fun reading Knisley's books and I really enjoyed how her pictures add a new level of understanding to the reading experience. Good graphic novels are far from being superficial.
