I just started reading An Absolutely Remarkable Thing. The first paragraph on this page is a great example of how Hank Green balances the serious tone in a mostly funny book. The shifts in tone make me happy.

I went into this book knowing nothing about it and that‘s how I would recommend reading it. At first, the main character got on my nerves somewhat. That changed for me and I found myself caring about the liars and the ending made me cry. I don‘t think this book is life changing or anything but it wraps you up in the setting/atmosphere and the ending definitely isn‘t what I expected. #wewereliars

My library has been closed due to all the snow but it was finally back in business today. I snagged this book because it‘s supposed to have a twist ending 🤷🏼‍♀️
I haven‘t read a book by E.Lockhart since I was in High School but bring it on.

One of the best nonfiction books that I have ever read. It was such an easy read. It was not dry whatsoever. The sheer scope of the impact that Henrietta Lacks‘ cells had on science is astronomical. I was not aware before reading this book that her cells were from her cervix and that HPV is what lead to her cells reacting the way that they did. People are so unfamiliar with HPV and it needs to be talked about more. I highly recommend this book.
