Pickpick

Like all her books, expertly plotted and overflowing with detail, insight into each and every character (big and small). Clocking in at slightly shy of 900 pages, it's a commitment - however, if you want to follow a team as they try and solve a seemingly random crime I think this cuts close to reality. As always, nice to spend time with Lynley and Havers. Pick it up if you are an Elizabeth George faithful and haven't gotten to it yet.

The New Girl: A Novel | Daniel Silva

Pickpick

Every summer I read one of Daniel Silva‘s Gabriel Allon novels in about two sittings. Expertly plotted and always topical they are a perfect example of solid beach/deck/dock reading. Can they be formulaic? Perhaps. However, it‘s a formula I have grown to love because it works every time. Who doesn‘t love a reluctant, world-saving art-restorer/super-spy...?
