Dracula | Bram Stoker
Pickpick

I loved the writing style of the book. Reading through diary of the characters made me care for them. It seems to have leveraged the reader's whole different level of intimate raw true experience of a person when you are allowed to peep into their personal diary. And as always, love the selfless portrayal of friendship and trust. Happy ending is a bonus.

Absolutely loved this book, left me feeling hopelessly romantic and optimistic. A perfect mood lifter and a page turner book for me.

Divine Rivals | Rebecca Ross

I thought I was over the YA genre but this one is too cute to resist!
What can one not love about two people falling in love over letters, beautiful words, with a hint of magic in background. It has a captivating story, reveals heartbreaking dark side of wars and how love can survive the worst! Can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this duology.

On Connection | Kae Tempest
Pickpick

One of the most soulful, connecting and real books I've read in a long time
I could feel the author connect with me
Reading this was a much needed wake up call when we tend to lose ourselves in cyclic mundane routines. It's a book I will probably re read again.

Violeta | Isabel Allende
Mehso-so

I found this book to be a bit of a slow read but it is a journey of a woman through almost 100 years of life through different political and personal circumstances, how she finds her true mettle and never stops learning and experiencing new things at any stage of her life.

Mistborn: The Final Empire | Brandon Sanderson

I simply loved this book. The magic system is interesting. The characters and relationships are endearing and the story has the unexpected wow moments.
It's probably one of the best magic system books I've read since Harry Potter.
Eagerly waiting for my order of the second book in the series to arrive..

Mistborn: The Final Empire | Brandon Sanderson

Finally got to this so hyped Mistborn series. I've tried to read fiction and non fiction alternatively over the past few months but with everything going on with the world, really looking forward to submerse myself in a good fiction read. YA has not been always my first pick for non fiction but I want to give this a try! Any other adult fiction suggestions? A stand alone or a series would do. :)

3.2/5
This book was an average read for me. I liked the 19th century royal setting. I struggled reading the first half of the book but the story picked up some pace in the second half.
Does anyone else feel that you have to get to the end of the book once you've picked it up or is it just me??

Buechersuechtling No, I feel this way sometimes, too. Especially when I realise that I‘m not too intrigued by what I‘m reading. 5y
Birdsong28 I stuggled with this book as well. Its now on Television in the UK and as I am watching it the storyline is becoming clearer. And yes I do feel I have to finish it even if I don't like it. 5y
Renee27 @Buechersuechtling yeah and then it is just the matter of trying to get to the end of it so you can start a new one. 5y
Renee27 @Birdsong28 I'm so glad that I am not the only one who can't give up on a book even if I don't like it much. This story may make a better tv show than a book. 5y

Testaments | Margaret Atwood
Pickpick

Just finished reading this beautiful book. I love Margaret Atwood's writing style and it was a satisfying read. Although mostly predictable, yet it appealed to me. It had most of the answers to the whys and hows of The Handmaid's Tale.

I loved this book. The more because it made me value and appreciate the freedom we have. The writing style of the author is amazing. This book had everything for me.

This book left me a bit empty and confused. I liked the writing style and it had all the emotional and real elements in it but still I felt as if something was missing... maybe it's just me. Anyone else felt the same about this book?

Bookyonce Agreed I think for me the end fell flat 5y

The Familiars | Stacey Halls
Pickpick

The story began a bit slow but engulfs the reader in a beautiful story as it unfurls the historical pendle witch trial from a young woman's point of view. It is a fiction novel based on a historical event and I fell in love with the strong female characters. Any reader would relate to the perspective of the story teller.

It's an easy quick fun read but I found it a bit hard to keep up with the so many characters and the complex family tree.

Liked the way how each character begins his own journey and the way they end up being linked to each other. A few plot twists were unexpected. Any dragon lover would love this book.
