I've waited way too long to read the end of this series.
“She was the storm, she was the lightning, she was the adult world with all its power and all its secrets and all its foolish casual cruelty.”
I can't believe how long I waited for this too come out, and now the third book is also out and I still haven't read this. What is wrong with me?
“I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
Based a a world with three suns, where darkness only falls once every three years, a young girl's father is killed, and she decides to attend a secret school for assassins to get revenge with her awesome shadow-controlling powers.
"Death and what came after death was no great mystery to Sabriel. She just wished it was."
"I can survive well enough on my own - if given the right reading material"
While I really know that I shouldn't have enjoyed this as much as I did, I just can help but love the characters enough to love it. It was however quite messy and poorly done with so many unanswered questions that it felt lazy. Still lots of fun though.
"Men are essentially useless for the difficult things in life. For births and deaths, one clearheaded woman is more useful than a half-dozen men.”
A girl in an Amish community takes in an outsider during a vampire apocalypse against the advice of her elders. Strangely, this decision doesn't actually cause any havoc.
"It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."
A high-ranking bureaucrat in a government agency dealing with the paranormal wakes up with no memories of who she is, but a trail of letters outlining that someone else in the organisation is trying to kill her - with hilarious results.
Um... so if Joffrey and Ramsay Bolton had a baby, it's likely he'd end up like this book's protagonist, Jorg. Jorg joins a group of maundering thugs at the age of like 10, and then when he's like 14 decides he wants to be the king, and everyone should be very afraid.
It's a Vlad the Impaler-based historical fiction if Vlad the Impaler was a teenage girl, who did no actual impaling, but a moderate amount of stabbing. Oh and EVERYONE has serious daddy issues.
this book is just such an awesome bundle awesome awesomeness! It's got incredible world-building, great characters, and hilarious footnotes. definitely one of my absolute favourites of the year, if not ever.
Another awesome installment in this series! And despite clocking in at over 700 pages, it still wasnt long enough. I still wanted more! When does the next one come out already?!
