just finished binging the LAST SEASON OF SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS ON NETFLIX!!! WIG SNATCHED. but what do y'all think of the ending? Do you prefer the hopeful Netflix or the bleak original, and why?

I've always found books with a strong narrative voice (especially an unreliable one) fascinating, & I've really enjoyed the in-depth look at the nature of young mental illness & the affects of dissociation, but damn. This quote- as simple as it is, it says everything I couldn't. "God doesn't give more than you can handle," what BULL, amirite Charlie?
