Maybe it‘s the graphics or maybe it‘s the writing style. Or maybe it‘s just me 😂

I don‘t judge a book by cover but sometimes it can be better… agree?

Pickpick

If you ever feel low or think you are unlucky or feel that life‘s not fair to you, pick this book, read it and let me know if you don‘t come out stronger and inspired. Just amazing hearing someone so close to death being so brave and focused on giving a meaning to his life.

Sky Castle, by M. C. Escher (1928)
Illustrations like this only make the matter being presented more intriguing

This is one of those books I picked up from the front row display at the library. I don‘t usually pick up books like this. The title to be honest is so banal. Except the fact that Bill Gates recommends this, there is nothing from the cover. But as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. I was so intrigued after reading the first chapter that I finished it in a day. This is by far one of the best non fictions I have read lately.

Great read if you like science. Mukherjee is an amazing storyteller. Highly recommend it.
At some places though you will feel a little lost especially at the end when discussing about sexual identity and it‘s relationship to genes.

This is my first book on dinosaurs. Very interesting at the beginning but somehow lost it in the middle and at the end. Definitely a good read but there are parts where I felt like quitting.

Came across this gem in a bookstore in SFO. Beautiful short stories ...
Which of the Moomin‘s book should I read next?

Thomas Hager is a gifted narrator. He builds up the story, mixing it up with interesting bits of history and science. The book captures major milestones in understanding the disease and developing drugs for it. With so much happening during the 1940‘s, it‘s hard to just fill up the book with facts and miss the big picture. But the author does a good job in focusing on the main theme. I definitely recommend it.

This is one of the best books I have read. Richard Dawkins is a brilliant writer and a great explainer. He has this amazing skill of presenting a topic in a way making it look easy and natural. I wish all my subject books were written in this style.

LitStephanie I just started it, and I was so impressed by his clear, understandable explanation of what he means by genes and how chromosomes go from parent to child. Glad to hear it will continue with the same clarity! 4y
