Allowing myself some time with the latest Shardlake.
Reading this makes me want to reread all the others.

I really liked this story about two girls growing up in Naples.
That cover though🙄
Our little boy will become a big brother in July.
Picking his name was easy (we had both a boy name and a girl name ready even before getting pregnant 😊), but for number 2 we have no idea...🤷♀️
Hopefully this book, a dictionary with names, will give us some ideas.
Still reading this book. And although I'm liking the story, I don't like the cover.
So no picture of the book, but a picture of our morning walk this cold saturday morning

Trying to start my next book, but my friend has other plans...

It's one of those sundays, it's cold outside and it's raining. So I could think of nothing better to do than finishing Dostoyevski 😊
This was my second time reading Crime and Punishment, the first time reading it in an English translation. The strange thing is, these Russian stories make more sense (to me) in English, than in my own language🤷♀️
2018 is nearly at an end, the Top2000 is playing on the radio so it's time for my december tradition: reading a Russian Classic between Christmas and the New Year.
Usually I read War and Peace, but this year I'm rereading Crime and Punishment. And Yes, I know I'm never finishing this one before 2019 (but I'm fine with that 🤷♀️😉)
It's been a while since my last post on Litsy... things have been a bit hectic in our family. Good things, bad things, you know; life. One of the good things is in this picture, sleeping after playing in the snow for the first time❄️
I'm still reading though😊
This book, I don't know. I'm liking it, but I'm not sure what is going on🤷♀️
Before starting this book I was a bit afraid. To me the name Steinbeck was a bit worrying. Now I don't understand why I didn't pick this up sooner.
I loved the writing, I loved the story, the characters, the period....
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really enjoyed this one
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our little boy fell asleep in the car after playing with his granddad this morning and has been sleeping ever since. This means reading time for mom👍
Chores enough, but wouldn't want to wake the little guy up😉

Enjoying a quiet sunday evening with #morbidelli and a new book 📚
Loving All the light we cannot see so far😊

Stephen King is up next this sunny day ☀️
I used to read a lot of his books when I was about 16, but stopped when The Shining gave me nightmares😱🤷♀️
I'm hoping this book will not keep me awake at night
Last book in a great trilogy about the American Civil War
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is beautifully written, the story is a bit dissapointing (or perhaps this is one of those books you have to read more than once).
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finished this one yesterday. As always I liked reading this Atwood. I enjoyed the writing. And, as always, the story was a bit 'strange' (in a good way).

Taking a break from our work in the garden, this lovely sunny day ☀️

This is a story about the American Civil War, but it's different from others I've read. This book does not focus on the politics, the events leading up to this war, it focusses on the militairy leaders of both North and South. This story portrays them as men with 'normal' emotions.
I really liked this book and will certainly be reading the other two books in this trilogy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Home alone at last!🎉
Just me, my current read, a cup of tea and #morbidelli
I don't even mind it's raining 🌧
Took a day of from work today to have some much needed 'me-time' (=reading time without people around)...
So here I am sitting in our car waiting for my boyfriend who has an appointment with the doctor and I forgot my book 😕
I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong here 🤔
Our little boy is taking a nap, the sun is shining (a bit) and I'm done with my chores (sort of)
Time to make a cup of tea and read 😊

We have had a strange week ending with my grandmother's funeral yesterday. So I'm in need of some cheering up. Off course I read to feel a bit better.
After finishing my last book I thought I wanted to read something fun and got Lady cop makes trouble from the shelve...
I changed my mind. Turns out I need some cheering up with an old favourite.
Anna Karenina is next up🙂
It looks like i've discovered Daphne du Maurier 😊
⭐️⭐️⭐️
@Kaye you were right. This is a very good book, it just takes a long time to read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our son (1,5 yo) loves bookdepository bookmarks. With my last order I got a Spot and a Kipper bookmark. He kept Spot and just gave this one to #morbidelli. 😊
Delli is not too impressed 😂
Halfway into An American Tragedy and I still don't know if I actually like this book. It's slow, nothing seems to happen. But I just have to keep reading, since I have the feeling something might be about to happen on the next page...🤔

I don't know about this book🤔.
It's not bad. The book is about a great and exciting period in history.
I just feel a bit dissapointed. I expected a lot from this book, because I loved the first two Kingsbridge books and it just didn't happen 😕
For me this book would have been a pick, had it not been part of the series... ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
At home sick with a bad cold 🤧
Started this one and I'm having a hard time getting in to the story. Maybe it's just the cold, but so far I'm guessing this is probably not Ken Follets best...

Finished War and Peace last night. Have read this one several times (7 or 8 I guess, it's a new years tradition..) and I just love it💕
To me this book is like a favourite movie. You can read it again and again and when you do, you keep discovering new things.
It was one of those days at work today 🤷♀️
So I have made a cup of tea and am joining Napoleon in Moscow for the rest of the evening.
Relaxing after the first day of work in 2018.
Looks like Morbidelli had a hard day 😉

Reading about the battle of Austerlitz (dec 1805) with the sound of carbide shooting in the distance, which (I guess) sounds a bit like cannonfire 🤔

My goodreads challenge for 2017 is reading 50 books. This is number 50, so let's be honest, I'm not going to make it 😂
And that's allright. Reading War and Peace around Christmas and New Year is a kind of tradition. And I'm going with that 🤷♀️
#currentlyreading
In this book there are three stories 'about' Thalia (a town that actually does exist according to Google) set in different times, with different characters. Even though there is a lot of sadness in the stories, I really enjoyed this book. Leaving Cheyenne, the second story, probably was my favourite out of all three.
Until our little boy wakes up I'm sitting by the fire, reading about hot and sunny Texas, looking at our white backyard. ❄️

Next up!
I don't think I will be reaching my goodreads reading challenge this year, with the 'big books' I've been reading. But I liked Lonesome Dove so much I will treat myself to this one 😊
We will see if I make it or not
