Here is The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johanson, which is better than the first book, The Queen of the Tearling, in my opinion! The first one has some problems with having to introduce a lot of ideas, characters, and problems into the protagonist's life, while I think book two is set up to be brilliant.
However, I'm iffy about recommending this series because I hated the third book. Such a waste of potential for a good series.
QOTD: Do you read a series of books all at once/one after the other or do you read them in between other books over a longer period of time?

I am STILL waiting on A Court of Mist and Fury from my local library (for weeks and weeks) so if anyone wants to send me a copy, I'd love that 😉
Loving Norse Mythology so far! This was a highly anticipated release for me in 2017 and it's not letting me down. The writing is Gaiman, the stories are ancient, the combination is magic. 🌌
"There's a feather on my pillow
Pillows are made of feathers, go to sleep.
It's a big black feather.
Come and sleep on my bed.
There's a feather on your pillow too.
Let's leave the feathers where they are and sleep on the floor."
I finished reading Marjorie Liu and Sana Tanaka's Monstress yesterday! Very steampunk Victorian aesthetic, beautiful character, creature, and costume design, but a bit of a confusing and poorly explained story in my opinion. I liked Kippa and the cats, but Maika Halfwolf was a mediocre protagonist to me. This is for fans of fantasy graphic novels, fantasy fans, and specifically fans of Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone series!
