Whilst I absolutely adored the first book in this duology (?), unfortunately I found this book to be really mediocre and the characters to be incredibly annoying *sigh* I just didn't get the same joy that I did reading the first one and I'm not impressed 😒

A little stack of some of my fav YA contemporary novels from this year + TSIAS (bc it's amazing and okay, fine, if matched the aesthetic 😂). An interesting fact about me - I used to HATE reading YA contemporaries up until very recently. I used to find them all really boring and repetitive but then I discovered the world of diverse YA and the rest is history 💁🏾

I don't want to say this too loud in case I jinx things but I *think* my reading slump may be fading away 🙈 I managed to finish 4 books in the last 2 days (2 of which I was already in the middle of) which has led me to make the above conclusions 😂 One of the books I finished was Sleeping Giants and although I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, it was still a pretty interesting read ☺️

I finally finished The Dark Prophecy today after a month of reading it 😭😭😭 I usually ADORE Rick Riordan's books but for some reason this one just couldn't hold my attention 😩 I ended up giving it a 3/5 stars because whilst it still was funny and entertaining, it just didn't bring much else new to Rick's already established world ✨

My first Litsy post and I'm ngl, I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing 😂 I've owned Strange The Dreamer since it first came out and yet I still haven't picked it up *sigh* Why do I do this to myself?
