Found the suggestion for this title through a new (to me) podcast, "Just the Right Book". I'm loving the podcast and am loving this book too!
I'm just a few minutes away from finishing this sequel to "Girl Waits With Gun". I loved the characters from the first book so much that I couldn't wait to spend more time with them. I pretty much binge listened to this volume every chance I had. I'm not sure it was as good as "Girl Waits" but I don't care. I loved it.
I had a few extra audible credits laying around, so decided to splurge on this book. Very inspirational! A lot of books inspire you to want to grow and change but this book gives you the how-to.
2017 is off to a slow start in spite of my reading goals, but I managed to finish this one. I haven't been super enthused about any book right off the bat so far this year, so I think it must be me not the book. But persistence paid off and I breezed through the last 1/3 of the book and enjoyed it. I highly recommend for anyone looking to read some good kid lit.
I'm enjoying my first modern kid lit pick. As many reviews mention, it has the charm of many of the classics I remember from my childhood. "Little Women" comes to mind (on the lighter side though) with a dash of "Caddie Woodlawn" and a maybe just a smidge of "The Secret Garden".
I'm having the hardest time getting into any book- after listening to the most recent Read Aloud Revival podcast, I thought I'd go for some kid lit. Hopefully, it will jumpstart my 2017 reading.
I loved reading this old favorite to my grandson. And he loved hearing it!
My library wasn't looking promising for getting this title anytime soon. Found it at Barnes and Noble for 50% off (last copy in stock at that location!). Hoping for a good read.
Only on chapter one but I think it's going to be good.
With a very strong Irish heritage, I looked forward to reading this.

If the ending had been different I'd be giving this book a straight thumbs up. I am learning that I much prefer the Jane Austin type ending where things are nicely wrapped up. I feel like new fiction maybe considers that cliche or something.
When It came time to decorate for Christmas, I removed this book set. I was actually somewhat happy to have it gone from our family room shelves. I was surprised when my son expressed regret that they were gone, telling me that they "look cool on the shelves". Who can argue with that? So they are back.
At 34 hours and 28 minutes I find this book daunting, but my goddaughter cajoled me into listening so that we can talk about it. I still have a long way to go but I am enjoying it (although it's a tough listen in the beginning).
I just started this yesterday. I chose this title based on so many recommendations for "if you love "A man Called Ove" you will like this one". I can see how it is a fun quirky premise, but I'm not sure... if you've read/listened to this one, is it a keeper? (No spoilers please!) update: bailed out on this one. I just couldn't do it.
My first read of 2017. I had hard time moving forward on this story, but stuck with it and in the end mostly loved it.
