Entertaining with delightful appearances of other familiar characters. In a "strange case," I thought Eliza Jekyll was not as developed as Lizzie Hyde, and it felt like there was a previous book in the series I hadn't read. That said, it was quite a bit of fun, and I'll read the next book.

Found this beautiful book in my mail this morning. Can't wait to start.

Yossarian You should notify the authorities that you found the lost poems! Someone is probably looking for them. 9y

A Tyranny of Petticoats features stories of "strong, clever, resourceful American girls" with a particular eye on diversity of experiences. So far, I've read fantastic stories about pirates, Inupiat, New Orleans's les gens de couleur libre, and Mexican Americans. Highly recommend.

"Misandry is the new witchcraft, but they can't dunk ya for it." Witty, hilarious, and charmingly awkward, Giant Days follows freshmen Susan, Esther, and Daisy as they navigate crushes, illness, and college. Can't wait to read volume 2.

Happy 152nd birthday to Nellie Bly, an unstoppable American journalist who spent 10 days undercover in a psychiatric hospital and raced Elizabeth Bisland around the world. Looking forward to this part of my summer reading stack.

One part science fiction, one part coming-of-age, Orange deals with high school anxiety, first crushes, regret, and suicide with impressive and sensitive storytelling.
