For some reason I've read more poetry this year than ever before. This one kicked it off - I read it after she won the TSElliot Prize. There was media nonsense about it.
Sarah Howe was born in Hong Kong and moved to Britain as a child. She goes back to Hong Kong to discover her roots. It's beautiful and fascinating, I absolutely needed to read the footnotes, & then read a whole lot more about modern China, Ezra Pound, Tiannenmen Square...💗🌾🌸

Won prize. Big fuss. Bought. Enjoying. YMMV, and yet also screw those guys. Whatever. Woman loves Borges, Pound, can write. Finis.
