Currently listening to this highly recommended book! It‘s different from things I tend to pick up, but I am thoroughly intrigued and can‘t wait to see what happens!

“This is their chance to discover that a library is more than a collection of dusty old books. It is a place to learn, explore, and grow!”
Reading this to my students as we are working through our mystery unit, it is amazing! Book lovers of all ages would enjoy!
“Here‘s a thing I believe about people my age: we are the children of Hogwarts, and more than anything, we just want to be sorted.” My September #botm is off to a perfect start!
Currently reading to my 3rd grade class. We are doing an author study on Kate DiCamillo this year and have started with this book. She articulates childhood (and adult) feelings in such a beautiful and accessible way.
This epic follows mother Lucy, her son Edgar and their other dysfunctional family members back and forth through time and between life and death. I think what I loved most about this book is that each character is flawed so deeply, sometimes through their choices and sometimes because of choices made for them, that it makes choosing a hero difficult. Excellent, beautiful prose. 10/10 recommend!
