Quite an unusual and unique read for me. It kept me anxious and alert to what would be the next turn of events. Although somewhat disturbing, I found this an engaging novel that I found hard to put down.

Although hard to choose my favorite Patti Callahan novel, this could be one of the tops! I thoroughly enjoyed the way she approached the long-distance friendship and the popularity of Mr. Lewis. I have long admired C.S. Lewis's writings, and now I feel a closer connection to him.
This book was a bit more disturbing for me than other Grisham novels I've read. I think the subject matter and also capital punishment were a bit too heavy for my reading style. I enjoyed this book, but I do not generally like such a dark storyline.
Just finished reading this today. Amazingly similar to current events, but eerie in the realization that things could be much, much worse. I was amazed that Julia had so much responsibility and constantly worried that she would crumble at any moment. I would like to see a sequel to this book to follow up on Julia and Tim's life and also what develops for Dr. Lynn. Obviously, I was drawn into the storyline for this book.
