Me in the feminist studies section of Powell's. I kept referring to it as Women and Women First.

I spent most of my day yesterday at Powell's in Portland. I came home with Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler, Asking For It by Kate Harding, and If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo.
Guys, I love Ms. Marvel so damn much.
I finished three great books this week, but Eligible was leagues better than the other two -- and maybe the best book I've read all year. A must read for any P&P fan. The modern correlations to the characters, plot, and moments are so damn delightful. I'm tempted to immediately start rereading.
What an incredibly beautiful look at process. I have a feeling I'll be revisiting this book over and over.
This was such a fun book to read about shifts in family structure. Also, it's Pride & Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights, minus Coach Taylor.
This was so good, I read it in two days. A refreshing perspective on a theme that so often focuses on frailty over a combination of truth and strength. I'm no Shakespeare buff, but at times I was tempted to read it side by side with The Winter's Tale. Teenage feminism ftw. 💪🏼
I was 100% like Jules in high school. I mean, without the dating and the dreamy boys, but you get it. Throughout this book I kept thinking "makes sense, makes sense" and cringing at the clearly illogical poor decisions. This was very cute and tons of fun.
Heartwarming as fuck.
Happy Opening Day from all these baseball books I have out from the library. ⚾️📖❤️
This was a fantastic (and frustrating) essay collection. The feminist themes Solnit wrote about were so on point and wonderful. Highly recommend.
I read this book back in 2013 and picked it up again this week to read for book club. I really loved meeting these characters again (three years distance is a long time!) & was pleasantly surprised by how much care & detail is given to issues of mental health. Definitely worth the reread.
🙌🏼🙌🏽🙌🏾🙌🏿 Drop everything and read this fantastic book.
I absolutely loved The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing. And I'm so glad I chose this moment to read it. It's a multi-generational Indian immigrant and Indian-American story (that takes place partly in Seattle!) exploring the home you leave & the home you choose. Absolutely gorgeous & heart-rending.
Nothing relaxes me more than reading on my lunch break. And The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing by Mira Jacob is so beautiful.
On deck: My Life on the Toad by Gloria Steinem & The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing by Mira Jacob. I can't wait to dig into these.
Just finished Vivian Apple Needs a Miracle by Katie Coyle. What an incredible book about badass teenagers. I wanted to be best friends with Vivian and Harp all over again. Thanks for this one, Katie. I can't wait to read what you're working on now.
