I actually did enjoy this book. If you are a fan of the RH franchise, I'd absolutely recommend this book. It was also surprisingly well written, considering the author is not an author by trade.

Although I enjoyed this book, I might have expected too much. Overall I felt the book lacked some historical significance in terms of the atrocities that took place in the Congo.
It is still a very enjoyable read.

After wanting to read this book for a very long time, I'm a little disappointed. I found the writing style difficult to follow. Understandably, it is a semi-autobiography, and covers sensitive topics, but I was not overwhelmed.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. Written in a post WWII Japan, it tells the story of a young girl's life in Japan, growing up in a very prominent family. Well written, this book shines light on difficult topics, with sensitivity and raw emotion.
