This is such a fun book! I loved taking a journey to Guatemala to visit the pyramids and be part of the crew on an ancient dig site, and being part of Ari and Luca‘s undeniable attraction to one another and the dangers they face together as they explore what it means to love in the most magical of places.

Read this with an open mind to walk in a character‘a shoes that will face some interesting experiences. This is not your traditional love story, but it is something so much more. It‘s the essence of what makes us stop. When we embrace another perspective, we learn a great deal about ourselves. Puri‘s journey was a beautiful and amazing discovery of what it means to find forgiveness, move forward, and embrace new beginnings.

I normally do not enjoy novels that time skip across multiple characters with an integrated story line, but this one was surprising! I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed into the story.

The theme with mystery lately, is to add multiple story lines moving through one story. In all honesty, had there been a bit more action and suspense I would have had a more enjoyable time being in the flow of the overall story. Instead, I felt as if I was being tossed around between plot lines between characters wondering if it was going to make sense. In the end, I expected more, and it left me feeling unfilled.

I tried really hard to get into this, and felt that the storyline had wonderful potential. I found myself constantly waiting for that spark that would give me my “wow” moment. The story is a quick read like others have stated, and filled with plenty of tasty plot nuggets to keep the pages turning. That being said it left me feeling unfulfilled, and wanting more depth out of the story and characters.

It‘s rare for me to get caught up so swiftly in a story that it‘s hard to put down. This was one of those stories. I loved the gothic atmosphere, the world setting and the mystery of what we may view as paranormal. I loved the authors take on the ouroboros and how it is betrayed in the story. I will never view the buzzing sound of bees the same ever again. If you enjoy a story that will keep you captivated until the very end, then this is for you!

A luscious journey into human perception in a post-apocalyptic future that invokes many questions on how we relate to the world around us. The poetic spin on world building held me captivated, as my mind pondered the journey, how we interact with others, and wondering what our future will hold on our present path collectively.

4/5 Stars - This is a wonderful first book into the author‘s Bayou Hauntings series. It took some effort to get past the middle of the book, as the focus on world building and back story occurred, but I felt they were much needed elements for his story. The events picked back up and I was hooked until the end, reading it in its entirety in one evening.

For a novella, this was really good! Even considering that I haven‘t read the other books in the series, it was able to standalone on its own adding to its overall mystery and as a teaser to explore the main storyline (which starts with Omens).

Norse Mythology meets New York City, unraveling in immediate chaos with sword fighting, nonstop action, and innocent young love creates a stage that is not only very unique with world blending, but leaves you with one heck of a cliffhanger leaving you begging for more. #highschool #loveit #trilogy

It‘s time for a new book!

“She shook her head sharply to clear her mind as the sweat dripped, blinding, into her eyes. Concentrate . . . The blade in her hand wavered, dipping as if in uncertainty.”

Poetry in an action packed beginning sequence is leading to an intriguing start.
