5⭐️ I thoroughly enjoyed this book for so many reasons. The characters were very well fleshed-out and relatable, and I loved their sexual and emotional chemistry. The politics were also very on point, and the conflict felt realistic, especially given that these were queer characters. I can‘t wait to read Casey McQuiston‘s next book! #takeprideinreading

Became an active reader again, read 82 books, and finished Read Harder challenge in 2018. Really enjoyed stretching to more diverse voices and genres. Here‘s the top 10 books I read this year (in no particular order): Lumberjanes Vol. 1, Lonesome Dove, Milk & Honey, Convenience Store Woman, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, The Kiss Quotient, We Are Okay, Circe, An American Marriage, and The Lightkeepers.

“She‘s far happier thinking her sister is normal, even if she has problems, than she is having an abnormal sister for whom everything is fine. For her, normality-however messy-is far more comprehensible.” I want to give a copy of this book to everyone I know. Thank you to Sayaka Murata and translator Ginny Tapley Takemori for this beautiful novel.

“We were nostalgic for a time that wasn‘t yet over.” This is how I felt about this book. I was cherishing it and missing it before I was even finished. Nina LaCour is a phenomenal writer.

I loved this book! Circe was a complex and relatable character, and I loved revisiting the story we know from the Odyssey and seeing her story get expanded. I love Greek and Roman myths, and it was really exciting to see this fresh perspective from (finally!) a female perspective. Now I really want to read Song of Achilles! Be sure to check out the Reading Glasses Q&A of Circe https://youtu.be/ZXFdIBFMhSY
