New week. New book. New adventure.
I think above all else it is freedom I search for in my work, in these far-flung places, to find a group of people who give each other the room to be in whatever way they need to be.
Popped into the bookstore with my love a few hours ago, and we're just now polishing it off. Sharing a childhood favorite with him has been such a blast, I find myself busting up laughing more than I have in what feels like years. Stories bring us all together❤️ Can't wait to see the movie tomorrow!
Just learned I can borrow audio books digitally from my library. And download them onto my phone. Whaaaat?! When did this become a thing?? #itsonlikedonkeykong
Having read HP a million times in my childhood, I'm enjoying a reread for the first time in a decade. I've watched the movies many times over the years, however, and I had almost completely forgotten about Peeves! Looking forward to rediscovering many forgotten details in the weeks to come!
"Walking the stacks in a library, dragging your fingers across the spines- it's hard not to feel the presence of sleeping spirits. That's not a fact, but remember (I repeat): people believe weirder things than this."
For some reason everything I've been reading lately has been super heavy and sad stuff. So ready for a fun read. Digging in to this puppy as we speak. Also, it finally feels like spring! So many things to be excited about :)
Oh, how I do love myself a new beginning. Digging in with a cat on the lap and a steamy cup of coffee. In other words, my paradise 💙
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not."
- Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
Happy bday to my first love! One day, my dad sat me down with a stack of Dr. Suess books and taught me to read. Best day ever.
"The best word shakers were the ones who understood the true power of words... One such word shaker was a small, skinny girl. She was renowned as the best word shaker of her region because she knew how powerless a person could be WITHOUT words."
What do YOU do when you've become beyond invested in a story? Dropping all the things to finish up seems a tad wayward.
But, if we are being completely honest, it is exactly what I'll be doing with the rest of my day.
Go away life, I'm reading.
New hardcover books are the best. And I mean like brandspanking, hasn't even been cracked opened one bit kinda new, and as you open it up for the first time, the spine makes that amazing crackle sound.
Hommina hommina...
Starting this beaut today.

The Nightingale
My soul is all aflutter with this devastatingly raw story of two sisters lives in France during WW2. Grab your copy, and a box of tissues, and dig in at your next opportunity
