This story could almost be considered ordinary, but Alum's insanely accurate detail completely captured me. He understands the intricacies of female friendships in a way that few can.
Also, this book made me miss NY.
Former band-mates living in Brooklyn, mid-life crisis feelings, and teenagers making mistakes.
The "rich people of NYC problems" can be irritating, but Emma Straub makes you look beyond that, captivating you with her gorgeous descriptions and human characters.
(Also making me miss NY a LOT...)

I've listened to 6 hours in 3 days. It's delicious and frustrating because you can't trust (and don't particularly like) any of the characters. So fun! So good! WHAT IS HAPPENING!!??
Forty pages in and loving this novel...But I keep pausing to stare at the cover art. It makes me so happy!
After I'm done with this, there won't be any Rainbow Rowell books that I haven't read and I'm not sure how I'm expected to carry on with that kind of truth looming over me.
