This book scared me a little. Based on a true story that tells about the horrific deeds of the Tennessee children‘s home. Children taken away from their homes and to think it‘s still happening today. It breaks every piece of my heart to know this story isn‘t real, but could be and there are so many stories like it. If you‘re into historical fiction. Give it a go. I don‘t think you‘ll regret it. It made me do a little extra reading of my own.

Freaked me out. Like bad. Like let‘s put it in the freezer freaked me out. I couldn‘t make myself stop. It was one of those like what the heck did I read and how in the world did I enjoy that... but I did. Like a lot. Even though it freaked me out a little. The end... man. If you like a good thriller and enjoy A little romance to go along with it 10/10 recommend

If you‘re looking for a juvenile read that‘s easy and packed full of adorable characters that are pulled together by the universe: this book is for you. I am attempting to read newberry honor and award winning books every other book that I read. I‘m super pumped about reading this one. I loved it so much. Until the next one.

Room: A Novel | Emma Donoghue

Horrifying story watered down to make you really be thankful for other places than a 11x 11 room. Jack tells the story of Room. The world. That‘s what he thinks. He has no concept of the outside. That scares me the most because of the child/human trafficking that happens all over the world. How many children could tell this story?
My only complaint: 300 pages of a 5 year old telling the story.

This book was picked for our battle of the books. I found it be a very eye opening book about Mississippi back in the day of Jim Crow laws and just plain horror. It‘s a book that reminds me how far we have come and that we can‘t stop. Beautifully written book.

On another cold wintery morning, I finished up this book. If you haven‘t read it, 10/10 recommend. It is the perfect real teen story. Tyler is the story that I‘ve lived through in my teen years. Tyler is the story that I witness every day as a teacher. I love this book. I love the raw and real. I‘m usually all about the fantasy. But this book. Man... just read it. You won‘t regret it. Then read Laurie‘s novel speak and thank me later.

Sweet sweet read. ❤️ recommended by our librarian. It had been on my to-read anyway. So I did it. I don‘t regret it. Ivan the mighty silver back gorilla dreams of being with those like him. He sets aim to help himself and ruby escape from their cages. This shows that sometimes the best intentions aren‘t always the right intentions. I love it. 10/10 recommend.

Library was getting rid of these comic books and my nerdy side was so so so pumped. ❤️ not original Star Wars. But 💯 fun to read for Star Wars fans. Set in a time right after the Death Star is blown up, Vader is on a mission to restore his good name to the Sith Lord. If you like comics, you‘ll enjoy it. Just like all comics, it‘s short and easy to follow.

I realized last year I read the first two of these and that our library didn‘t have this or it was checked out and I found it tonight on my online library so I checked it out. Not bad. I like the easy that are graphic novels. All about stomach issues and anxiety. Which is comical and real so I appreciate that. If you have a spare 30 mins, it‘s fun for sure. I love the artwork the best!

This is the kind of book that makes me think. The one where I sit back and look at the world around us. A sci-fi novel where the world is obsessed with a fictional world and plays a game to escape reality. I feel like in our technology world, some of us are too sucked in to our technology. I ate this book up and finished in like 2 days because I couldn‘t put it down. Stay tuned for review of book #2

I‘m not a fan of poetry. I liked this book okay though. If it would have been any longer, I may not have been able to finish. It was a cute story and the methods that she used made it fun to read. So I did finish. But it was hard. If you‘re looking for an easy read, this is it. I read the whole thing in about an hour.

I‘m gonna admit that I‘m a conservative and that I‘m not always on board with open boarders. But reading this book opened my eyes and made me really think about how there are times when we must abandon that and be willing to help out. 3 different stories. All with the same goal. I loved this book and it was such an easy read. Again. For book club. Older middle schoolers would fit this book a little better just so they can understand.

Next on the list for battle of the books, a nonfiction book. I was skeptical. I‘m not a huge fan of nonfiction. But this book held its own. I have a lot of respect for military men and I‘m so thankful for people like Craig that are willing to fight. I enjoyed his sweet story of finding Fred and how they literally saved each other. Make sure for younger readers to get the young readers edition. There isn‘t any language and content is appropriate

Everything breaks lose from the very beginning when Niks boyfriend proposes to her at a dodgers game 😂 literally one of my worst nightmares 🤦🏽‍♀️ the refusal and the learning to deal with life after the proposal is so good! If you‘re not a person who likes language (me) there is some. And some PG-13 sexual content. But very well written and sooo good.

I love kk. This story is about love and how precious it is. It took me long enough to finish this book with life and craziness. But I LOVED reading about Sarah and her song. The verse Proverbs 4:23 plays a huge role in this story and even plays a huge role in life and love. It‘s so important to guard your heart in everything. God gave Sarah her song and a Heart to love. What a beautifully written story ❤️

I‘m a huge KK fan, so i always feel so biased when I say I love one of her books. (probably because they are fabulous!) I love the faith aspect and the positive outcome of everyone of these books. Gideons gift warmed my heart with the faith of a little girl who believed in the power of Jesus Christ. Cheesy? Probably. But I loved it all the same. I think that the reason I found this book so interesting is that this is a story that in some form is happening every day. One of the most important take away I got is that no matter where you‘re from or who you are, you still live. This story might make you mad. It may make you think. It may make you change your perspective. Just beware that this isn‘t the book for the closed minded. If you‘re up for the challenge, I HIGHLY recommend this book.

This book is life changing. Halfway through and I read this quote and I questioned a lot of the logic behind this thought. It‘s funny how this is so true. Bad things happen to good people. That‘s just how the world works. But we cant quit. And we certainly cant lose hope in people and doing the right thing. Powerful.
