Four Found Dead | Natalie D. Richards
Pickpick

Overall, this book was entertaining and easy to listen to. Four Found Dead was the first book I‘d read, a mall murder mystery, and I had fun as the story went on. The premise caught my attention, but the narrator and the suspense, tension, and creepy slasher vibe had me playing the movie in my head. It‘s an excellent pick for a book club to discuss or even a little palette cleanser between heavier or longer books!

This book was interesting and definitely intriguing. The narration differed between chapters despite it all being portrayed as a written history of the events of the world by one author. It was a different take on the post apocalyptic world than I‘ve read before & I enjoyed this new take (for me). Makes me think more about what it would be like to be in a hotel when th world ended as we knew it. Overall entertaining read, but will not read again

The cover is a little wild & chaotic, but it drew me in all the same. It took a little to get into the story for me. The storyline was entertaining, but the characters started to drag on my interest the further I read. I did like the references for video game pop culture, but at times did feel like the writing was pretentious, the author feeling like they needed to put large words in for the sake that they were superior, & forced.

Pickpick

Charlie‘s story was interesting, reading about her failures & successes as they fit into the world of shadows & magic kept my interest piqued throughout the book. The supporting characters added some color and dimension to the story and everything ran smoothly. I was surprisingly disappointed in how one of the character relationships ended, but overall, it was a solid entertaining read. Didn‘t want to set it down until I was done.

Traveling Book The prologue started off well, my interest was piqued and I was eager to learn what had happened with Aurelia, but once we jumped into other POVs in the story with other characters, unless it was Lexi‘s pov, I found myself becoming less and less interested.

Overall, I enjoyed the gothic folklore that the story was centered around, but wish we could have delved deeper into the Norwegian history.
