This is one of those books that I really can't say anything about - except for wow. It was interesting, different, and fulfilling. If you're a history buff like me, this book is for you. My review will never do it justice. All I can say is, you have to read this novel. #top10faves

Probably one of the rare occasions where the show is slightly better than the book. The book on its own is excellent, but seems to be somewhat lacking. I like the story line and the characters, but I also like how the show takes that extra step to expand on the plot and setting, something the book doesn't really do.

Can anyone recommend some good historical fiction books? I need my fix once I finish this novel. Much appreciated ☺️

swishandflick Have you read anything by Sarah Waters? 🙌🏽 8y
Scarletmarked @swishandflick sadly no :( does she focus a lot on historical fiction books? 8y
swishandflick Yep! She's all Historical Fiction and mostly LGBT protagonists. So excellent! Fingersmith is my favorite of hers - wicked plot twists! 8y
Scarletmarked @swishandflick I will check it out! Thanks for the recommendation :) 8y

I'm really loving this book. It's humorous yet serious, and mixes my two favorite things: history and adventure. Can't wait to finish it up

In this post apocalyptic novel, the world is run by the healthy but nearly insane, and the disabled survivors of an almost fatal disease. When the main character's sister and uncle go missing, it's up to him and an old friend to find and rescue them, in a disease and violence ridden Arizona. I really enjoyed the unique story, and would recommend it if you're looking for a short book with a twist that doesn't sacrifice the characters and plot.

"Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald" truly blew me away. I picked it up after some browsing of F. Scott's novel, and I found it to be one of the best novels depicting life during the 1920s. This novel is so filled with emotion, and adds personality to the poster children of the Jazz Age. This book is good for anyone who loves a bold historical fiction drizzled with bits of drama, romance, and tragedy. #top10faves
