I‘m still quite new to Litsy, so I have a question for you all. Would I be able to post my own literature here, such as poetry and the occasional short story, or is this app more for book reviews and the such by author‘s other than myself? Would people be interested in reading and reviewing what I‘ve written?

WhatWouldJaneDo The post limits are pretty short so I don't know that you'd be able to post directly on Litsy but I definitely see people post links to their other sites (blogs, YouTube videos, etc) so you could do something like that 😊 6y

I‘m wanting something a bit more on the horror side so I picked up these three classics. Which one would you all recommend?

Victoriahoperose The Haunting of Hill House is awesome. Definitely go for that one. It‘s creepy, excellent writing, good twists and all the film adaptations are pretty fun to watch! 6y
Saw629 @Victoriahoperose I saw that there was a Netflix adaptation of it! Do you know if that‘s worth a watch after I read the book? 6y
Palimpsest Frankenstein is one of my favorite books that also has the theme of the sublime and questioning who really are the monsters of society. Haunting of Hill House i just read and is a book full of terror/ psychological more than gore and very good. The silent Companions is also a good creepy read. 6y

Victoriahoperose The Netflix show was very good. Lots of nods to Shirley Jackson. It is important to know before going in that it is not the same story. But, there is a lot that will come together if you love the book. It‘s a solidly spooky adaptation that was well researched, in my opinion. Can‘t wait to see what you think when you get to it!! 6y
Saw629 @Palimpsest Dolls are one of my personal phobias that I‘ve been trying to conquer for a while, so I might give The Silent Companions a try if not just to see if I can make it through it. Thanks for the recommendation! 6y
Palimpsest @saw629 those are really the spookiest books I‘ve read aside from Dracula, haha. If you read my review of The Haunting of Hill house you will see it‘s the scariest book I‘ve ever read because I don‘t usually like horror. It‘s definitely more troubling than Frankenstein. Whatever you choose, enjoy! 6y
tpixie @Victoriahoperose @Saw629 I also enjoyed the Haunting of hill house. I found it creepy but not too scary. I loved the Netflix show- the nods to the book, the acting, the characters. It was scarier than the book. But it all came together so well!!! 6y
bookandcat Adooooooore Frankenstein! Not super scary but a powerful book. 6y
Eggs Welcome to Litsy 🤗👏🏻 6y
shadowspeak17 Frankenstein is great! 6y
Smrloomis I really enjoyed Frankenstein although it wasn‘t scary for me - just sad. 6y

Spaceman of Bohemia | Jaroslav Kalfar

Mehso-so

“Spaceman of Bohemia” was generally a good read. The subjects it broached, such as love, thoughts of self and acceptance were well thought out and described. Where I thought the book weakened was in the plot itself. Near the end of the book, it felt like the author was trying to wrap up his narrative as quickly as possible, leaving too much to the reader‘s imagination. Altogether a good read that fell off near the end.

RaimeyGallant Nice review! And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it.
