Listening to this on audio at the minute and it makes me wonder...Can everything in life just be narrated by Neil Gaiman? 😍

Faibka Totally agree!! 👍 8y

"This was a snatched Saturday afternoon. They knew that it was one of the last days of full blown high summer. It was already early September, and the leaves and grasses, though still unambiguously green, had an exhausted air."

Too much end-of-summer realness right now.

MrBook McEwan is such a great writer 😊👍🏻. 8y
Louise Wow, what an evocative couple of lines! 8y

I'm going full-on Muppet arms over this! Parnassus Books Signed first edition of The Underground Railroad. Ain't no shame in my book nerd game!

MrBook Lucky you!!! I'm meeting him in a few weeks 😁👍🏻. 8y
SandraD1 @MrBook Lucky YOU!!! Mine just arrived in the mail. I'd need to be medicated for over excitement if I were actually going to meet CW! 🙌🏼 8y

Exploring different formats, part 2: Audiobooks

I have pretty bad listening comprehension because my mind wanders easily when a story's words are not right in front of me. But THIS book is audio perfection. The performance and story are excellent. I'll be sad to finish it!

BookishMarginalia I color while listening. It helps to focus my attention #audiocoloring 8y

I'm trying to increase the number of books I read by reading in different formats. (I've always been a book in hand kind of gal.) This is my first book I've read on my phone. Perfect for that...fast read and easy to hold on to the plot and characters!

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Ive found that it's not really as difficult or off-putting to read on my phone. I was surprised at how easily I adapted to it. I think we Litsy people would read anything anywhere, right?! 8y
BookishMarginalia Of course! Bring it on! 8y
SandraD1 You guys are totally right!! I don't know why I've been so resistant!!! 8y

Sometimes you just have to pull the "I'm the teacher" card and cut to the front of the popular book borrowing line.

Desha ??? Love it! And the "I also get to keep them longer than the normal check-out time" card! ❤️ 8y
