I liked this book, probably more than the first one in the series because you see a lot more of the world of faerie in this one, we travel to different kingdoms and lands and see the other rulers. These books are good, fun, easy reads between my other, more intense reads. 😹

While it wasn‘t as satisfying or soul wrenching for me as the Song of Achilles, Circe is still an amazing book. Written in a way that keeps your attention despite the thousands of years that it spans, giving a full story to the life of one of the most interesting figures in Mythology. Loved it, definitely recommend it!

SamAnne Just finished this and loved it. Ordered Achilles on Thriftbooks! 5y
Salaphina @SamAnne I hope you like Achilles just as much! That book changed my life! 😹 5y

100%, best book I‘ve read all year. I know I say that about a lot of books, but this book just annihilated every book on my favorites list. This book is the love story Achilles deserved, the the low key, devoted couple I needed, and a magnificent piece of art. I will defend this book and everything is holds, represents and stands for until my dying breath. Thank you for coming to my rant. Excuse me while I go read it again and cry.

I‘ll admit the cover kind threw me off, but over all the book is amazing! It lost me a bit in the middle, but pulled me back real fast. I love the history and how removed they are from everything we know right now. But at the same time, they don‘t know that much more than we do. I loved the dynamic between all the main characters and I can‘t wait to see what they do in the next book!

Scythe | Neal Shusterman

In love with this book. Scythe is to me the utopia version of 1984, where no one suffers, dies, is sick or is poor. But also, nothing happens. Everyone is muted and feels less. This is a perfect example or how immortality ruins the fullness and passion of our short lives.

quote
Salaphina

“I won‘t let your ignorance silence my pain.”

This was such an important quote for me. This entire story was powerful and amazing but this quote really summed up the whole book. No one should suffer so that others can remain in comfortable ignorance. Read this book, it‘s amazing.

I‘ll be honest, I loved this book but at about 80% it was very hard to read, even though I wanted to read it so bad! I eventually pushed through, but after powering through the book to that point, I was extremely invested and the book itself was intense. There‘s a few brief torture scenes and fallout that completely derailed me and was difficult to get through. But the book was worth the read, probably the most important read of the year for me.

I had this book sitting on my shelf for a long time and actually LOST it before I finally gave in, got from the library and read it. I feel a fool for taking so long. This book is absolutely amazing, though I‘ll admit a weakness for fairytale retelling. Cinder surprised me, left me wanting more and yet left me thoroughly happy with the story itself. Look forward to the next one!

Books like this are the reason I still read kids book. It has the magic and adventure of a true fairytale along with a cast of great characters who occasionally make mistakes but know that everyone is human...or fairy...or troll. But never the less, everything will work out at the end of the day. If that‘s not a sentiment worth sharing, I don‘t know what is.

This book is a absolutely amazing! It was both everything and nothing like I expected. An inverted little mermaid where the creatures of the sea truly are monsters...or are they? Urg, I‘m screaming inside I loved this book so much! Everyone should read it!

Just as wonderful as its predecessors, Tricked pits Gilly and her friends against a new foe, one they‘re not even sure how to fight. To take back her friends, her sister, her school and her kingdom, she might have to admit defeat and make a deal. 😍 can‘t get enough of these books!

As Gilly‘s adventures continue, she continues to make a splash in the kingdom thwarting evil fairies and storybook villains, catching the eye of royalty and commoners alike. Making new friends and discovering new plots, Gilly even takes on a princess or two in this one!

I absolutely love this series. The main character Gilly is an adorably stubborn girl with the best intentions at heart...at least where her family is concerned! A look at fairytales from the eyes of someone who wouldn‘t normally be the main character of their own fairytale.

I‘m so excited to start this book! I absolutely loved the first one, it was exactly what teenage me would have loved. A cliched teen fantasy where the princesses fall in love with each other. It fed my soul and made me so happy, I can‘t wait to read the sequel!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved every story, though I definitely have some favorites. I took my time with it, pondering each story, so many of which left me wanting more. Some of these author have completely entranced me and I plan to seek out their other works for more glimpse into the magic and secret filled worlds they introduced me to in these pages.

This book kinda fell into my lap, it was an impulse borrow from the library without having any idea of what it was about beyond the cover. But truthfully, ifs amazing! I‘m four stories in and each story is absolutely amazing! They feed my witchy, magic loving soul in ways I couldn‘t imagine!

kgriffith I still need to read this, Anna-Marie McLemore is one of my favorites, she has one in here! 5y
Salaphina @kgriffith I haven‘t gotten to her story yet, but I‘m sure it‘s as amazing as the rest of them! 5y

I read this book solely on the recommendation of a friend because I‘ve stayed away from romance heavy books in recent years, but it surprised me, I very much enjoyed it and will continue to read the series. I can‘t wait to see more of Callie‘s growth and transformation, her and Des‘s relationship and the adventures they have.

I love this series so far, I love and hate the characters but I feel like that just makes them more real. The story itself is filled with surprises and secrets that make me eager to read the next one.

Honestly it‘s an interesting book. Different, very much so. Deviates from the Cinderella set up of the first one, but also tells a great story of its own. I love the relationships this book continues or elaborates on that were set up in the first one, the strange reunions and the mixed feelings they invoke and many other aspects of this story. Honestly, if there was a third book in this series, I‘d read it.

A wonderful end to the series. The whole series was amazing, I flew through it in less than a week. Reminds me why I love high fantasy.

I loved this one in particular due to the separation of the main character from everything she‘s been through in the last year and seeing her continue to evolves on her own. Vhalla is a character I can connect with.

These books have realistic characters, villains and growth. Because sometimes the villain isn‘t the people you‘re going to war against, sometimes it‘s the man leading you to war.
