I like (big) wiener (dogs) and I cannot lie. Oh, and books. I like books too. Ro and Stitch the Weenie, reading together, one book at a time 🐶

Anyone else have a favorite series/author they fall back on when life gets a little too rough or crazy? For various reasons, I‘m not a big fan of the holidays and have been dubbed The Grinch by my holiday-loving family, and with all the texts flying back and forth about holiday plans, this Grinch has begun to hide in her books.

Mercedes Lackey is a total comfort author for me. Whose your comfort author?

Audible is how I stay sane during my workday. I work remotely and between a weenie dog whose convinced that every passerby is an enemy and noisy neighbors who keep very odd hours, I *have* to listen to something! I usually bounce between Spotify and audiobooks when I feel my brain can handle it, but it‘s how I add an extra 3-5 books a month to my reading challenge!

Any other Audible fans in the house? What are you listening to? 🎧

👏🏻EVERY👏🏻BOOK👏🏻IS👏🏻BETTER👏🏻AND👏🏻BETTER👏🏻
To be quite frank, the first book in the Maeve Kerrigan series, The Burning, is the weakest of the series so far. Normally you‘d think it would be a sophomoric sequel that would be less than stellar, but not so!

Author Jane Casey really knows how to build the suspense. This isn‘t your run of the mill police procedural. Independent heroines, engrossing cases, and three dimensional characters!

TrishB Love this series 👍🏻 one of a handful I‘m up to date with. 5y
ReadswithWeenies @TrishB My library doesn‘t own them, so I‘ve been having to use the interlibrary loan system and it‘s agony having to wait 3 weeks for the next book to come in! This is a series that I think I will start to collect once I‘ve caught up to the last book! 5y

“This isn‘t a dress rehearsal, Marcus. You only get the one turn. Life is a series of unique opportunities.

It‘s our job to find the happiness in each one.”

Graphic novels be spitting straight fire and truth. 🔥🔥🔥 this quote really resonated with me and I‘m only just a few pages in!

Yikes.
Look out mateys, thar be some dark, dark stuff ahead. I‘m not one to turn back from triggering material, but there were definitely moments in “Blindsighted” that I was gritting my teeth or setting the book aside to breathe and move forward.
Dark, dark mystery thriller featuring a pediatrician who moonlights as a mortician in her small southern town, with her ex-husband as the chief of a police. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 4 outta 5.

I like big books and small dogs and this comparison brings me great joy.
I went browsing the library last night and went down a section of manga/graphic novels/comics that I don‘t normally explore and found this honkin‘ huge graphic novel collection! I‘ve not read Deadly Class before but the art and storyline drew me in immediately!
