This version of Emma is beautifully bound! I still hate/pity Emma, though.
I've got quite the to read list.
We were off to a bad start, but as it turns out I really really liked this one. It's well written, but sometimes reads a little too much like a creative writing exercise.
2 pages in and I'm already feeling like this author is trying too hard. A 4 line sentence to describe a secret.
I thought this would help cure my insomnia... I was wrong. Why do I love reading about long dead monarchs so much?
Reading while at chemo with mom. Laughter is the best medicine, right?
Great book! Reminder that nothing is ever really black or white.
Starting a new book this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing if it lives up to b my "reminiscent of both William Faulkner and Toni Morrison."
Captures life with very young kids but in a pathetic way. Interesting but not particularly well written.
First line captures motherhood perfectly.
"The afternoon holds the beautiful promise that it will soon be over."
