My memories of him, though few, are mostly pleasant, but memories of people you hardly know are often permitted a kind of pleasantness in their absence. It's those who stay who are judged the harshest, simply by virtue of being around to be judged.

Here is my #BookSpin list! I'm late, I know. I only just found out about it today. Sounds exciting @thearomaofbooks! Hopefully, I haven't missed too much. 😁
I went in numerical order, starting with A Princess in Theory going down.
My BookSpin is The Lies We Told, and my Double Book Spin is The Girl with the Louding Voice.
I was so drawn in by the cover and the idea behind this book. However, it took me forever to finish. I wasn't as drawn in as I would have hoped, but I enjoyed the story and background. I will say about halfway through the book I had accurately guessed the ending. This book gives you a funny glimpse of the admissions process for prominent schools and the how race and diversity plays a part in the process.
I had no idea about the history Jeju island, the haenyeo, women-led societies, or the author Lisa See. I was introduced to this book through the ravings of a booktuber and decide to purchase it on a whim.
I took awhile to finish this book due to the tragedies discussed throughout but in the end it was a beautiful story of friendship and forgiveness. Lisa See did a great job building this world. I found myself getting swept up.
Just finished this book and I must say the prose was beautiful from start to finish. 😍
What a perfect book to begin my Litsy journey with 😁
