I remember walking in & seeing a yellow sign on her fridge that said, "HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE." I stared at it. I loved it, but it took me twenty years to realize that it's the word "choice" that is so powerful. You must make that choice all the time. And the people I follow in life are the kind of people who are capable of making that choice all the time. Consistently.
This author is absolutely incredible not only for his ability to write in a way that wholy removes you from reality, but also because (he obv became very well versed in the subject matter of identity disorders because) I feel like I've actually learned a few things without realizing due to his wriitng style having a smooth flow. It's real dialogue packed with full color imagery & whole paragraphs of psychological facts that are easily comprehened
"Sometimes," said Pooh, "the smallest things take up the most room in your heart. "
Kona is super pumped about all the books his father got him this morning at the book store. We have read to him literally every single day since I was about four months pregnant, today he is nine months old & is the biggest book lover in the house! When given the choice between toys & books this boy always picks up a book. ???
Going to our favorite place for a morning date- Barnes N Nobles! Gonna see what titles call our names....
He never used to read before we got together & six years later he has turned into an even bigger book worm than me 😏💕💋
Chilling on the couch while the baby naps in my lap, listening to a new audio book I found on recommendation. Nasaw has a quite the talent for imagery....

"... he offered her a piece of Trident gum, and Gretchen- he had to stop and smile at the adorableness of this- Gretchen had asked him to tear the piece of Trident in half because it was too big for her. "Can you believe that?" he marveled. A girl so feminine and perfect that half a piece of Trident was the most she could handle.
I tried to process what this meant for my evening.
"So... you and I will not be dry humping, then?"

Perhaps one did not want to be loved so much as to be understood.
George Orwell, 1984
Sylvia had a way of writing that causes the reader to feel her words deeply, as if her lore could penetrate one's bones.
Currently reading A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown... one of my all time favorite memoirs 🦄
I feel that some of the most profound quotes & imagery come from the detailed writings of J.R.R. Tolkien ?
