After 2 1/2 days of christmas festivities with family (a lot of people, really) I finally have time to stick my nose in a book again 🤓 so far I really like The Long Shadow by Liza Marklund, let‘s see how the story develops! It‘s about a famous swedish ice hockey player who gets murdered in Spain and while the police gives up on this case early the journalist Anika Bengtzon doesn‘t give up and tries to uncover what really happened
"It is to the credit of human nature, that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
"Every form of art is another way of seeing the world. Another perspective, another window."
I liked it! The story was kind of predictable and nothing special per se but it was a fast and enjoyable read - exactly what I needed!
I did not like this book. It felt like two totally different stories got mixed together in this book which made it confusing and not very gripping. Also I didn't like the protagonist. So all in all not my kind of book.
I loved this book! The case in this story is different from the first two books, in my opinion it's a little creepier and kept me biting my nails 👏🏼😄 the relationship between Strike and Robin takes some huge steps within the story and I can not wait to see how it develops in the next book.
"Pain is a symphony. A song of varying intensities and many, many notes."
I really liked the ending, because it was kind of refreshing not having to read the typical "the-good-guys-win-and-everybody-is-happy"-ending. That being said, I didn't really like the rest of the book, mostly because I thought the protagonist was extremly annoying...
I finished 'Alone in the Dark' today. All in all it was a good read, but there are just some aspects of the story that don't quite add up in my opinion. That being said it was still an enjoyable read for me - like most Karen Rose books I've read so far.
Nothing new to report: still reading 'Alone in the Dark' and still really liking it!
Back to my book - at least until the football match starts 😉 I still really like the story, I'm just a slow reader at the moment because I just don't have the time 😩
The story is kind of predictable so far - if you've read a book by Karen Rose, you know how the story generally evolves. But I like that, because sometimes I just want to know what to expect from a book. It's still an enjoyable read!
