Pickpick

I thought the pacing was a bit off (half way through the book, I had the feeling that nothing REALLY important had happened) and I was a tiny disappointed but the ending but I greatly enjoyed my read! Heartless is a very intelligent and interesting retelling, and offers a back story not only for the Queen of Hearts, but also for some other characters, and it was greatly made!

I found it slow to start and quite predictable... Alina got on my nerves and the other characters weren't developed well enough, thus I couldn't really like them.
I might read the sequel, but not now

Chachic I skipped reading this series because of mixed reviews. I went straight for Six of Crows instead. 8y
Laura_PetiteCerise @Chachic And is Six of Crows better? 8y
Chachic I thought it was a fun read.😊 8y
Laura_PetiteCerise @chachic I might read it then! Thanks for your advice 8y

Another beautiful book, and another disappointment...
Well, I'm being tough here. I loved it the first time I read it but I was disappointed the second time by the love triangle Will-Tessa-Jem and their exaggerated feelings... I like the secondary characters more, but they're only secondary characters...
But well, it's still a nice conclusion!

So beautiful... But so disappointing
The plot was messy and made no sense, characters felt out of character, especially Ron, and did I say that the plot was confusing? I didn't really enjoy my read, maybe my expectations were too high

This sequel was maybe even better than the first book! Full of action, more world building, well written characters, and so many unanswered questions that made me really excited for A Conjuring of light. V. E. Schwab's work is beyond excellent! A book I couldn't put down.

Chachic Yep, I think the sequel was slightly better than the first book. With the added bonus of Rhy and Alucard.💖 8y
Laura_PetiteCerise @chachic I completely agree with you! Alucard really makes the book more interesting 8y
Chachic I didn't like him at first when I thought he was romantically interested in Lily. But I found everything else about him intriguing. 8y

Laura_PetiteCerise @chachic Same for me! I was really intrigued because Kell dislikes him but when I found out why it made everything better, because I didn't want another love triangle... 8y
Chachic Also it just made me love Kell and Rhy's relationship even more after discovering why Kell hated Alucard. 8y
Laura_PetiteCerise @chachic Yeah, Kell is such a loving and protecting brother! I have a soft spot for him x) 8y

The plot was slow to start but really intriguing, and V. E Schwab excels at world building! The characters are well developed, making this book a really interesting read. My favorite 2016 YA read so far, definitely worth picking!

Chachic One of my favorite reads this year too! 8y
