'I give you an onion. It is a moon wrapped in brown paper. It promises light like the careful undressing of love.'

The way Duffy presents love has always been my favourite aspect of her poetry.

Pickpick

I have thoroughly enjoyed being lost in this story - magic carpets, strong female protagonists and a love story with a little more flare and originality! Thankfully, the sequel did not disappoint and I found myself easily pulled back in to the story. The character development was strong too, and even with different POVs and new characters, it still didn't lose anything the first book had to offer. Bravo! 👏🏼

We live and breathe words. It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt-I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.
