Favorite line so far: 'She was perfectly happy building a new life by herself. In fact, the last thing she needed was a man to complicate things. Although, with a couple of drinks under her belt, there was nothing wrong with the tiniest bit of flirting. Was there?'

Love Is | Tia Kelly
Pickpick

This is one of those books that will have you loving and wanting to scream at the main character. Tia Kelly is a master at the subtlety of emotions and creating beautifully nuanced portrayals of African American women. A fantastic novel! Can't wait to read her next book!

The City of Mirrors | Justin Cronin

I just started reading The City of Mirrors and--wow--the writing is phenomenal. The Passage Trilogy is a compelling read--frightening, heartbreaking and beautifully written. It's a must-read!

Miznanner Totally agree- it was worth the wait! 9y

Such a Girl: A Novel | Karen V. Siplin
Pickpick

One of my favorite novels! It takes its cues from Jane Austen's Persuasion, but is set in modern day NYC. Interesting characters, great sense of place! Loved it!

Maybe Baby | Kim Golden

I wrote Maybe Baby for NaNoWriMo a few years ago. And the idea for it was born in the courtyard of the Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen.
