Just about to start this. Love the cover!
I really enjoyed this slow burning crime story. Set in a small snowed in town in Iceland, it perfectly describes the bleak midwinter. The atmospheric setting makes you feel you are there and can almost feel the cold surrounding you. Iceland is one of my favourite places and I love Nordic noir drama. This book doesn‘t disappoint. There are many intertwined characters who gradually come together within the story. Can‘t wait to read the next one.
Just finished this book. I mostly enjoyed it. The characters evoked my affection and empathy and the description of the harsh environment in the 1300‘s was palpable. The present day parts were a little tedious at times. All in all it was a good but ultimately sad read. Especially in the current pandemic!
Another one bought on a whim! Sounds good though. Anyone read it?
I‘m pretty sure I read this book many years ago and loved it! I used to drop my daughter off at school and then had about half an hour to spare before I had to be at work. I used to sit in the car and read!
Just joined this site! No idea what I‘m doing but just got this book and looking forward to reading it! Mother of Moosmoo and mother of girlfriend to Theneverendingtbr
