I liked the magic system and the moving castle. Calcifer, Michael, and the Scarecrow are my most liked characters, in that order.

Howl and Sophie are my least liked.

The revelations regarding Howl and his origins were a pleasant surprise, especially since they weren't really in the movie.

I enjoyed the fantasy elements enough to compel me to finish the book, but it's not one of those I would gladly reread.
