Two troubled couples find themselves trapped in a strange house in the middle of nowhere. They later find out that the house is owned by a masked psychopath, and the only way out is to play his gruesome game. As the characters try to escape, they grapple with their pasts, struggle with the strained relationships they have with each other, and examine the relationships they have with themselves and God. The name of this book is "Lies We Tell Ourselves," written by pastor Greg Laurie. In the book he talks about what it means to be tempted, how to recognize it, and how and why people fall for temptation. From denial and making excuses, to recognizing how to identify individual weaknesses that lead to falling for temptation, and strategies for resisting it, the author teaches us how to put an end to making compromises that will end up harming us.

GbemisolaM If you like faith based books that teach about the unpleasant aspects of being human and how to overcome them, and that offer encouragement and guide people on how to live their best lives, this book is for you. I believe a motif in this book would be that there is still hope despite the fallen nature of the human race, because Christians believe that there is always hope and a chance for redemption, no matter who you are, what you've done... 4y
