I've had this book for years and haven't read it yet, even though I knew I'd love it.
This line is a great reminder of how much of women's history is oral. A woman's hands were always supposed to be busy doing the "menial" housework, but they were so often family historians, artisans, and experts in medicine.

More depressing, sexist statistics from Hollywood
I grew up loving the work of Ray Harryhausen, so I am SO excited for this book. Especially after this intro:
