You can see the influence it had on The Lord Of The Rings, but unlike LOTR, you can easily read one chapter to your children at bedtime. It is episodic in nature, and meant for a younger audience, but nonetheless fantastical. It captures the simple imagination of childhood and it sweeps an adult back to those days when you yearned to go on a exciting adventure, much like our main character, Biblo Baggins. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Ever heard of Thug Notes?
Thug Notes is a web series that summarizes and analyzes classical literature with a humourous twist, (it‘s basically Spark Notes, but as told through the lenses of the “Thug Life”).
Check out how Sparkee handles the themes of Harper Lee‘s, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” by following the link below:

Anytime I am advocating for feminism online, I will remind myself of what Anne Frank said...

I read this book when I was 16, and I just realize now that this is the first book I have ever read that depicts two people of the same sex kissing. 👭 Furthermore, it is the only book I have ever read that does.📚 I need more LGBT+ 🏳️🌈 reading material, (and I think society in general needs more LGBT+ exposure to combat homophobia/transphobia). Suggestions? 🙃
I watched the movie dozens of times when I was a child. Now, I am revisiting it by reading the book it was based on. I discovered that the film was based on a particular version: Goldmen‘s abridgement. I find reading the book most delightful: this is the first book I have read, where I can recite the dialogue perfectly once it has begun. I suppose the idea that childhood nostalgia can ever be outgrown is, undoubtedly... inconceivable.
