Entertaining and heartbreaking

Not as good as Greenlights but always some good nuggets and vibes

I love when a book and movie/ tv show are on equal standing and work together for a great experience

Happened upon this at a used book store right after hearing a podcast suggestion. I liked it a lot and can‘t wait to dig in to more from Alan Furst

This really picked up speed in the final 3rd.

Not a light beach read but a great book. Just a gut punch of truth about how we can look away from atrocities so easily now

Not bad

Lots of interesting stuff about bourbon and the culture. There was also a lot of conflicting ideas between celebrating the Van Winkle family and pointing out that whiskey is all bullshit and marketing.

I am really interested in all things Northern Ireland so this book came with high hopes. It delivered. Couldn‘t put it down

Hard to put down once the love story kicks in.

The kind of guy you want to have a beer with. Great story telling and full of interesting nuggets too.

I‘m always amazed when a writer can make such a suspenseful story when the reader already knows the ending.

This ending was far out but I was on the edge of my seat for the last 50 pages.

Drugs are bad and can be so devastating to so many. It‘s amazing when beautiful and powerful art can survive the damage.

It‘s so nice to read an entertaining book while also learning about the world and history that may have fallen thru the cracks.

The names in the book caused me to stumble and kept me from fully losing myself in the story.

Great read. Everything about The Troubles in Northern Ireland is so tragic and interesting.

This build up had me lulled into a feeling that the ending would be a let down. Not so. I did not see it coming at all.
