A very different tone then the other books in the series, being in a very different time period and have almost no necromancy in it. Still delightful, Mogget the #talkingcat makes a very sinister appearence. While the words asexual are never said, Clariel states she has no interest in sex and she doesn't understand people who do. I first read this when I was in 7th grade and I still enjoy reading it now. Sabriel was awonderful main character then and now, very real and down to earth.
