Pick with a caveat--this is a beach read (see the sand? Coming to you live from Bermuda). Don't expect more from it than that. But that being said, it's a clever and fun roman a clef/faux memoir about a former teen series actress who falls in love with a big movie star and then discovers the extent of his cult-like practice...sound familiar? 😂
This book is dark and brilliant, and I LOVED it. Could not rip myself away from the pages.

Is the tissue box too on the nose? The whale keeps it whimsical. Seriously, this book was a lot to take in. While I admired her honesty, sometimes it was too much. But I also had moments of real thoughtfulness and connection, which made it worthwhile. I won't reread, but I'm glad I read.
On marrying later... "It's not such a bad thing to always have something to do...those who marry later, after a life lived single, may experience it as the relief of slipping between cool sheets after having been out all night."
