Joe seems to have a troubled relationship with just about everyone in this book.
pickA gothic, sinister tale of 19 yr old Anne Jaccobs & the effects of her oppressive household on her psyche. She forms more than one #troubledrelationship & her calculated manipulations of each had my heart racing. The prose is so beautiful and poetic I found myself rereading paragraphs and dog-earing pages to return to later. This macabre tale set in Victorian London will definitely be one of my favorites this year.

so-soChemistry has a #troubledrelationship! Sadly, I did not enjoy this as much as I was expecting to--perhaps I should forgive the narrator for having no personality given how depressed she is (I know-I've been there) but I couldn't get over my annoyance at how little she let us in. I would usually like little tidbits of information scattered throughout--they should be a pro for this book but they were so pedestrian, not at all profound or revealing.
All of the Colleen Hoover books I've read have featured a #troubledrelationship #awesomeautumnbooks

I've only read half of this one but there was definitely a lot of familial troubles - sons vs fathers; wives vs husbands and of course subjects vs the King.
