pick(1989) The 4th volume in Clancy's series of thrillers featuring intelligence analyst Jack Ryan has Ryan responding to a covert military operation gone sour, targeting drug production in Colombia. I haven't been a fan of this series but it's growing on me: it's turning into a sort of technothrillers where the "techno" is US political machinery (plus enough peril to keep the ship moving). Flaws, yes, but interesting, and this is my favorite so far
so-so(1987) Testosteroney, sometimes ridiculously so, and starry-eyed about royalty. But it promises thrills and then delivers them. If this is the kind of thing you like then you'll like it pretty well. On balance, I liked it better than expected.
I just found out that my co host doesn't like Harrison Ford. Very disturbed by this.
