pickI expected to DNF this, but after @BethM review, I had to try. I‘m a sucker for Peter Pan versions where Pan is a villain and Hook is sympathetic. The author insists this is not a retelling or a HEA fairytale. Whatever you call it, it‘s steamy & fun. Hook is a villain that remains a criminal to the end & Wendy‘s a bit of a freak. I don‘t know what it says about me, but I didn‘t consider it particularly dark. 😳🤷🏻♀️
BethM Yaaas! I‘m thinking of reading more! @swishandflick recommended Wretched. I also think it‘s weird to say it‘s not a retelling bc it is closer to one than ACoTaR. I would agree that it‘s not “dark romance” persay but I guess I considered it dark bc of the criminal plot line, which was done sooooo well. I don‘t find criminality dark bc of my job but I also live by #thisjobchangesyou so I assume it may be dark for others 😂😂 1y
