pickI sobbed my way through the last quarter(ish) of this beautiful book. Alternating between a focus on Yale, in 1986+, and Fiona, in 2015, Makkai covers the AIDS crisis and its (much later) aftermath. The novel is gorgeous, addressing political engagement, art, love, and--perhaps most of all--friendship. Fabulous, powerful novel.
When all the of library holds come available all at once. Ready for the weekend.
