pickSo, Longfellow's style is definitely over the top, and the relentlessly rocking meter starts to wear you down after a while but I still loved this beautiful Romantic poem and its tragic story of displacement. I do wish the separated lovers had just stayed in one place and written letters to the blacksmith until they located each other but I guess that would have killed the plot.😂 #litsypoetry365 #theRomantics @SharonGoforth
