Someone asked me, “why is it taking so long for you to finish that book?”
I look at my 724 paged book in my hands and didn‘t know what to say.
Some books for me are light reads and others are heavy reads 🤷🏻♀️ but I never thought of reading as a competition to who finishes first.
I wanted to read this slow and savor every moment of the novel.
And wouldn‘t you rather see people reading than not reading at all?
Merry Christmas to all #littens

JoyBlue Similarly (I think), I‘m not keen on reading challenges. I read for pleasure—it makes no difference to me how many books/year. Enjoy your reading! 📚💙 5y
Zelma @vumblereads @JoyBlue I don‘t even do the Goodreads challenge. I love seeing my page total for the year and look a my genre trends and such, but I don‘t do challenges or rush my reading. That said, I love how different we all are on Litsy! 5y

Birdsong28 Totally agree with you about this. I see people reading 10-20 books a month on here and I barely get through 2-3 a month due to work and family and I just think at least I pick up a book. I have managed to complete my GoodReads challenge of 45 and have got it to 92 books so far (as I will be finishing at least 2 more by the end of year) but sometimes I do feel a bit pressured to read more but I just want to do what suits me. 📚📖 5y
vumblereads @Birdsong28 congratulations on completing your GR challenge! 92 books is impressive! I finished 100 books so far but I read manga and picture books too or whatever interests me at the moment. 5y
vumblereads @Zelma yes I agree! Each reader is different. Some people assume that everyone who reads books belong in one category. 5y
vumblereads @JoyBlue yes I agree! Read for pleasure and to improve oneself! 5y
